What operation types does FieldWork cover?
Row crops (corn, soy, wheat, cotton, sorghum, rice, oats, barley), livestock (cattle, hogs, poultry, sheep, dairy), specialty crops (fruits, vegetables, nuts, berries), organic, hemp and cannabis, vineyards and wineries, orchards, greenhouse and nursery, aquaculture, and agritourism. Plus segmentation by family farm vs large operations.
Can I filter by multiple operation types?
Yes. You can request a list combining multiple operation types (for example, dairy plus row crop operations in Wisconsin, or organic vegetable plus orchard operations in California). Custom combinations are standard on every order.
How do you classify operation type?
We combine USDA FSA program participation, NASS Census of Agriculture classifications, USDA Organic Integrity certification status, state ag department licensing, and self-reported operation type. Operations with mixed activity (for example, row crops plus livestock) are tagged with all applicable categories.
